We offer many options for diners as to how you can select your portions and pay a fair price through

    one of the following options:

    1. You may pay the suggested price or something different. If you  pay more, you will assist someone else who has more limited resources.
    2. You may volunteer an hour of time in exchange for a meal.
    3. You may have the complimentary dish of the day if you cannot pay or volunteer.
    4. You may include the complimentary dish as one of your selections to help keep your total cost at a minimum.

  • What kind of food does A Better World Café offer?

We make use of seasonal foods--grown, cooked, and served  in ways that benefit both you and the

environment.  A Better World Café’s selections change daily as our chefs implement the products

from local farms and markets and seasonal items.

  • How does the cafe maintain an environment friendly atmosphere?

A Better World Café reduces food waste, since customers choose their own portion sizes. It reduces

trash because it does not use Styrofoam cups, plastic utensils, or paper plates. All of the coffee and

teas available are fair-trade. Food waste and teabags are composted instead of being thrown away.

Community Cafes

A Better World Cafe follows a community cafe model pioneered by Denise Cerreta of One World Everybody Eats in Salt Lake City, Utah. The cafe is a great way to strengthen the bonds of community by providing nutritious meals based on affordability rather than price. A Better World Cafe is proud to belong to a family of community cafes around the nation that share the same principles.

One World Everybody Eats - Salt Lake City, UT

SAME Cafe (So All May Eat) - Denver, CO

One World Spokane - Spokane, WA

Potager Cafe - Arlington, TX

St. Louis Bread Company Community Cafe - Clayton, MO

Though new, the cafe has already motivated and inspired people with its sustainability model.
